Last summer, I had revenue, great clients, and real momentum. 🚀
But I also had a problem:
The whole business still ran through me.
Every client touch point.
Every project.
Every system.
I told myself I just needed a week off - a quick reset.
Instead? I got six weeks of forced rest.
Because when I stepped back, everything stalled.
That’s when I realized:
I hadn’t built a business that could scale.
I’d built one that only worked when I overworked. (And that is no business I want to run!)
So I made a decision:
No more patching holes.
It was time to rebuild.
Not from scratch, but from strategy.
I help high-capacity CEOs do the same.
As a Fractional COO, I don’t just fix workflows, I help restructure the way you lead, so the business stops depending on you. We build from strategy, not just task lists.
Here’s the question that started everything:
What system, habit, or decision point still depends on you… that really shouldn’t?
That’s where your next strategic shift begins.

Last summer, I promised myself I’d slow down.
I even carved out a full week off - a cruise with my family.
But a week before the trip, I was already in chaos.
Scrambling to finish client work.
Trying to prep social media posts at a frantic pace.
Hoping I could hold it all together with my scribbled out to do list and sticky notes.
A friend called me out.
And later that night, I told my husband -
“I can’t keep going like this. Something has to give.”
I thought the cruise would fix it.
The rest. The break. The escape.
But when we landed back in Denver?
I hit a wall. Hard.
I got sick.
And didn’t get better for six weeks.
God didn’t suggest rest.
He forced it.
I had to pause everything.
And when I finally had the energy to come back?
I knew I couldn’t rebuild the same way.
Next week I’ll show you what changed.
But if your brain already feels like scrambled eggs this summer…
If you’re chasing momentum and dropping your most important work…
You’re not failing.
You’re just stuck in scramble mode.
✨ Start by seeing the pattern.
👉 Comment QUIZ and I’ll send you the TypeTrap™ Quiz.
It’ll show you the trap your brain defaults to - and how to finally shift out of it, before you end up on the couch for six weeks like me. 💔

There’s always that one thing that slips when your brain’s overloaded - especially in the middle of the summer scramble. 😎
You’re juggling summer camp drop-offs, teenage snack marathons, and onboarding your next client… all from the front seat of your car.
👉 So...what’s the first task that drops, even though you know it matters?
👉 The one you mean to do, but never actually finish.
👉 The one you tell yourself, “I’ll circle back to it…”
Content batching?
Email follow-ups?
Systems clean-up?
It’s like confession…
except without the priest.
Or the guilt.
Or 10 Hail Marys. 🕯️📿🙏

Today's my birthday. And the best birthday gift? Saying YES to the right work for me. 🩷
Suzanne Stabile asks the question, "What's my work to do?" And I've been spending the last 6 years trying to answer that question for myself.
5 years ago I was burned out, suffering from major health issues, and missing time with my family. I loved my job, but I was overworked, had zero margin, and was craving a way to get more flexibility back in my life.
4 years ago, I took a leap (or maybe felt a push from God), quit my job after 20 years of being in public education - and said YES to God's invitation to start a business.
Did I go kicking and screaming? Maybe.
But would I trade the last 5 years for anything? Not a chance.
By doing the right work for me...
🩷I've been present with my kids after school.
🩷I've said YES every time they have needed me - without guilt or wondering if I had enough PTO.
🩷I've grown closer to God in quiet time and study.
🩷I've said YES to family members who needed me - and shown up without having to constantly watch my computer or my phone.
🩷I've spent time with Joel - daily walks and cribbage games and deep conversations we had missed when I was working 24/7.
Was it the right work for me? Yes.
Is it the right step for you? I have no idea.
But helping you find the right work for you and your business is what I love to do.
Take the leap - it's terrifying, amazing, scary, and marvelous, all wrapped up in one big ball of joy.
