This is Liberty Cap in Yosemite National Park, California. The dome-shaped granite peak rises dramatically above Nevada Fall, which you can see cascading down to the right of the mountain.
• Liberty Cap stands about 7,076 feet (2,157 m) tall.
• The waterfall next to it, Nevada Fall, drops roughly 594 feet (181 m).

This iconic curve stretches nearly 1,000 feet across and plunges more than 1,000 feet deep — making anyone standing at the rim feel both tiny and invincible at the same time. Visiting in late summer means blazing daytime highs above 100°F, so most hikers trek out early morning or late evening when the light is softer and the rocks glow with surreal color.
