🏆 Denver just scored a major win on the national food stage.
At the 2026 James Beard Awards, several Colorado chefs and restaurants earned nominations, but only one took home an award.
👏 Chef Penelope Wong of Yuan Wonton was named Best Chef: Mountain Region, representing Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Utah and Wyoming.
Known for her inventive dumplings, Taiwanese comfort food and globally inspired Asian flavors, Wong has helped transform Yuan Wonton into one of Denver’s most celebrated restaurants.
This James Beard win puts another Denver restaurant in the national spotlight and further cements Colorado as a serious food destination.
