Meet Colorado's new summer festival!

Vertex Festival Buena Vista, Colorado | August 5 - 7, 2016

After all the speculation and hints Bassnectar has finally revealed his Summer Basscenter plans for Colorado. In lieu of returning to Red Rocks, Bassnectar will curate a very special event at Dick's Sporting Goods Park, which is located just outside of Denver in Commerce City. The major league soccer venue is a unique spot for a concert in Denver as it has on-site camping available on the adjacent practice fields. The 26,000 person capacity venue has proven to be a popular spot for fans of Phish, who have held multi-night runs for the past five years. Basscenter will be held on July 29th & 30th. Each night will feature a host of superb openers along with an extended set from Bassnectar. Friday will feature sets from Flux Pavilion, Flying Lotus, Lupe Fiasco, Minnesota, and Dabin. Saturday features an epic lineup including Wu-Tang Clan, Porter Robinson, AlunaGeorge, G Jones, and Thriftworks. The event will feature camping villages, pirate radio, canibass, food trucks, and more. Pre-sale tickets go on sale today at 10 AM MT and general on-sale will occur this Friday at 10 AM MT. While it wasn't the "Mountain Bass" that some of the fans had hoped for, Bassnectar has nevertheless curated a stellar lineup at a proven venue with the option of cheap camping for fans that are traveling from out of state. Over the past 6 months, Positive Vibe Tribe has been getting settled down in our glorious new home of Denver, Colorado. We have been busy discovering the expansive music scene in this great state. For our first post we would like to showcase one of the many artists we have discovered since moving.

Beak Nasty, familiarize yourself with this name now as I feel this young producer is poised to make a great impact in the coming year. Beak Nasty, aka Ryland Sabien, is a 21 year old producer out of Wisconsin currently residing in Boulder, Colorado. The talented young artist released "The World Is Real EP" earlier this Fall. The album is great showcase of Beak Nasty's style which can be compared to other producers such as GRiZ & Manic Focus. The EP features elements of hip-hop and funk combined with deep bass lines. Sabien's multi-instrumental talents allows the album a depth not found on all-digital recordings.

Starting in January, Beak Nasty will embark on a massive headlining tour across the country. The World Is Real Tour will start in Colorado with an appearance in support of the legendary Blackalicious. Then the tour will work its way through Montana and North Dakota before heading to the Midwest for dates in Wisconsin, Chicago, and more. The tour will have additional dates added in the future. Bassnectar has announced the location of his annual Halloween bass extravaganza. This year's Halloween Masquerade will be held at the The DeltaPlex Arena in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Fellow Santa Cruz native G Jones, as well as Yheti, and SuperDre will also perform as supporting acts. Pre-sale tickets for the show go on sale today at Noon ET. The public on-sale will occur on Friday at 10 AM ET. Tickets are bound to sell out fast for this Midwest throwdown. Nectar also announced that his plans for NYE will be revealed on September 8th!
