During National Library Week, we’re celebrating the spaces that provide access to knowledge, resources, and services that support people of all ages and backgrounds. From learning and research to community programs and essential services, libraries strengthen communities far and wide. 📚

Mead Library is taking shape.

Designed for an open, exposed site, the building creates sheltered outdoor spaces that block the wind, provide shade, and encourage gathering—something the community emphasized throughout the design process.

The repeating shed roofs reference the region’s agrarian forms, while the overall composition was inspired by the murmuration of flocks of birds migrating through Mead.
