While every dog is different, this is a great rule of thumb to keep in mind when you’re bringing a new rescue dog or foster dog into your home! Shelter environments are hard on dogs, as are all the hard transitions that come with the act of rescuing a dog. Some of these dogs may settle in faster than others based on genetics, past experiences, and personality but big changes are hard on any dog! Be sure to give your new rescue patience, time, and grace as you show them how to navigate their new life.
