What do we do when we are being told that protesting violence is the same as the violence itself? Or that blowing whistles is a threat?
Last week, nine of us gathered, clergy and ministers from UCC, ELCA, UMC, and Mennonite traditions, at the Colorado Springs City Council meeting. We shared testimonies in support of the MLK Day declaration, asking the Mayor and City Council to protect the constitutional rights of all residents from federal overreach.
The truth is, there is never a 'right' time and place to speak truth to the powerful. They will never want to hear it. But we are called to speak anyway. We are called to use our voices and whistles and words to make a ruckus in the streets, in the halls of power, on the internet, wherever injustice is happening.
Because the powerful listen to disruption. They listen to lost revenue. They listen to the upsetting of the status quo.
Each of our actions has the potential to create other actions and possibility. We must act. We must be brave. We must work in community. We must have moral clarity.

🌟✨Donor Reflection ✨🌟
Why Bry Brannan (they/them) gives monthly to Juniper Formation…
“I donate monthly to Juniper Formation as one of the ways to be part of the collective efforts to sustain the relational, soulful, and justice-seeking ministries of this ecumenical church.
The bimonthly Gathering nourishes and challenges me to embody my faith. The Gathering space is rooted in song, Scripture, sacrament and Spirit-led conversations. One week we reflected on how we experience a gender-expansive God and the next week we engaged each other on why conversations about reparations for the legacy of slavery can be hard to have at an individual and societal level.
These are the small group conversations I’ve longed to have in church. I invite you to join me and my spouse Camille in making a monthly contribution as you’re able to support the people who bring the ministry of Juniper Formation to life.”
Join Bry and their spouse Camille (they/them) and make a one-time donation or a recurring monthly donation,
And if you donate before midnight on December 31st, a generous donor will match all new gifts or increases in gifts (both recurring and one-time gifts) made to Juniper Formation!
This matching gift allows generous new and increased donations to go twice as far for Juniper Formation’s mission to prophetically reimagine the Church.
