Your favorite wine bar might just become a fried chicken takeout spot to survive the coronavirus shutdown.⠀
⠀
“The last thing I want to do is put anybody at risk,” said Troy Bowen, co-owner of Noble Riot (now called Noble Fry-It, a fried chicken takeout spot with to-go wine). “The second-to-last thing I want to do is to let the spirit of this place die.”⠀

Sunday Vinyl is a record-spinning wine bar and dinner spot in Denver, and last week it was nominated for a national James Beard Award for Best New Restaurant.⠀
⠀
Here's a slice of the experience: Over the course of a meal, the restaurant’s soundtrack might progress by region and genre, sort of like a wine list. Sunday Vinyl is working with Denver record club Vinyl Me, Please to curate its playlist.⠀
⠀
“My goal is for guests to unplug from the digital world and plug back into the analog world,” said Justin Williams, the restaurant’s director of operations.⠀

Our food writer describes her experience as she tried all the Denver Christmas pop-up bars as: ⠀
⠀
"By the time I arrive, we have 40 minutes left to sip on our Santa mug cocktails until the next reservation takes the table. And thus begins night three of a four-evening bender filled with sugary drinks, Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas is You” and a ton of tinsel. The Christmas bar, in all its forms, is definitely a dream come true, but it is also very close to a nightmare." ⠀
