Today is MMIW Awareness Day.
Native American women face a crisis of violence, murder is the third leading cause of death for Native women, and those living on reservations experience murder rates ten times higher than the national average.
The Initiative stand in solidarity with Native communities and honor the lives of missing and murdered Indigenous women. Their stories matter. Their lives matter. ❤️
Here’s how you can take action:
🔴 Follow Native-led social media accounts
🔴 Stay informed about MMIW in your area
🔴 Join marches, rallies, or local events
🔴 Donate to organizations supporting impacted communities
🔴 Write to your local officials and demand justice
Let’s raise our voices and demand change.

Two of our staff members recently attended a DVP training, and these were some of their key takeaways.
When we slow down and truly listen, we help create safer spaces for people to share their stories, even the ones they may not yet have words for. The way we respond matters. Offering validation, care, and encouragement can make a meaningful difference in someone’s healing journey.
This work starts with how we show up for one another. 💜
