Just a word of advice and caution if you have one of Mike Lane Mods power mods. Make sure you’re using a standard USB charger or one approved by Mike and his team. I plugged my Eleanor into as USB charging block and blew the USB cable. Thankfully, I opened the car back up and the board still worked perfectly! Plugged in another USB cable, reassembled the car, and shes ready for Memphis to boost again! It’s a testament to Mike Lane Mods commitment to quality products that the board survived.

I am glad this happened to the Eleanor with a relatively simple disassembly process and and easy fix. If this had happened to my ECTO-1 I would have been in trouble!

Mike Lane Fanhome

Decided to do an impromptu troubleshooting day yesterday. Was looking at the front bumper of the Fanhome Toyota Supra and kept thinking these orange indicators next to the fog lights didn’t look right. Turns out I had them swapped (left to right) and I have corrected them and they look much better now. Moving to my Eleanor Mustang, I managed to blow up my USB-C cable that runs into the Mike Lane power mod board. Being in the troubleshoot mode I decided to open the car up and see if, by chance, the board survived and to my amazement it powered right up when I plugged a different cable into it. Now, I just need to replace the cable and I’ll have a perfectly working model again!

Arrow McLaren has opened their pocketbooks to make power moves for 2027 and has shifted from the youngest team in the paddock to be the most experienced. It’s wild that this has happened at the expense of Christian Lundgaard who has tallied two wins for the team this season and could very well finish highest in points for the team. If McLaren can’t find consistent winning form with this group, they’re never going to. It will be interesting to see how Meyer Shank Racing and Chip Ganassi Racing fill these new vacancies in the 2027 roster….and how Lundgaard navigates the many suitors he will have for his talents!

Seeing posts and narrative that says there’s nothing to celebrate on the 4th of July…the 250th birthday of our great country, no less…and they could not be further from the truth. I get it. There are those who believe the leadership of our country in the current term is a corrupt mess. But the current leaders of our country (in their current term of power) encompass .008% of the history of the nation. A nation that 250 years ago said we want the right to choose, to blaze our own path, and give every individual the right to do the same. It hasn’t always been pretty and it has been bloody at times but we’ve seen it grow to the greatest country in the world and we stand because of the blood, sweat, tears, and perseverance of those that came before us.

You can regard the current leadership with disdain. That’s fair…that’s your right and has been since the Founding Fathers put pen to paper before sending that famous declaration 250 years ago…but do not dismiss the fact that this is a country whose history is worth celebrating. It’s a land of opportunity where you can be anything you want to be, strive to do better, be better, and live better. And if you get knocked down, you can start over, rebuild, and reinvent…and THAT is worth celebrating and saying you’re proud to be an American.

This is wild. I became an IndyCar fan on the regular in or around the mid-2000s during a time when Scott Dixon and Chip Ganassi Racing with their iconic Target liveries struggling to keep up and have a vivid memory of Scott being asked in 2005 to describe their season and he replied with a succinct ‘Quite Terrible’. Fast forward a couple of decades and the record that Scott and the organization have amassed is nothing short of staggering. Poles, wins, and championships were not an expectation but a forgone conclusion. I was fortunate enough to see Scott win at Texas in 2008 and sn**ch the 2014 Championship away from Helio Castroneves at Auto Club Speedway. As he moves to his new destination in 2027, I wish him all the best! Arrow McLaren is getting the Iceman, a champion, and an ambassador but I will always remember him first as the driver of the No. 9 Target/PNC car!

You know, I told myself I was only going to add one more kit to the stash this year and then Steve Iverson has the audacity to dangle these in front of me. I’ve been eyeing both of these for a long time but now they are available for a price I just can’t turn down! I’ve already added them to my waitlist on Steve’s website and I cannot wait to add these to my queue!



Star Trek

Just unbelievable…the old fulfillment center really messed this one up for us US customers. It’s going to take quite a while to sort this out but I’m confident it will get there! For now, we wait…

We’re at that point in the process on this one where the time has come to put the box in the bin. Round 2 does the best job on their boxes with beautiful artwork on the front, back, and inner flaps that it’s almost painful to let them go…but it must be done!

Continuing the progress on the 1:537 USS Reliant. Light blocking is done as well as primer coats on the main body of the ship. Electrics are going in as well! The lighting kit is custom from the ground up with coding help from Chat GPT. I’m happy with where we’re at!
