Embodied therapy or healing is about developing your felt sense so that you can interpret and listen 👂 to your body.
It’s also about developing a larger capacity to tolerate 🔥intensity🔥in your body so your system can complete energy cycles that were started (during stressful times) but never completed.
When the energy cycles are able to complete, your body can release 🌋what’s been bound up in there for years.
In this experiential process you free up more of ✨YOUR true essence✨ and internal space. You transform your pain and feel calmer, more connected, clear and confident!

You know it. You can feel it deep down in your bones. Maybe you felt that ping in your body as you read it. YOU ARE SPOT ON.
Despite what we’ve been told, life isn’t about just working and paying the bills. Life isn’t about just getting by. There IS more to life than living the same day over and over again and your deepest, truest Self knows this.
Confidently speaking this truth tends to p**s people off because so many of us have internalized other people’s ideas on what’s important in life. Women in particular get told, in one way or another, to be grateful. Grateful for what we have even when we know something is missing. You are NOT wrong for wanting more! You deserve that rich, adventurous, joyful, messy, beautiful, connected, painful, FULL life.
So, when you feel like something is off or missing, you’re probably right. What would it be like to trust that feeling and start exploring what’s off and what it is that you truly want in life? I’ll give you a hint, start by looking inward.
You can change your location, change your job, and meet new people….maybe you’ve already done these things. And these things can help, some. Ultimately, to truly experience life to the fullest you need to look inward. You need to know yourself to the fullest to live a life that is in alignment with all Parts of you. This is where the shift happens, from “just getting by” to living; THRIVING!
Life is for LIVING! What keeps you from living life fully?

How is the quality of your rest?
Not being able to let yourself rest is a form of self neglect usually learned early on in life by the way we were related to and behaviors that were modeled for us. We grew up learning to value productivity over most everything else and for many of us our ancestors carried and then passed down this burden in some form or another.
We are a people that are in perpetual harvest. Always going and grinding. Nowadays, resting carries such a negative connotation. Too many of us feel LAZY for resting so we don’t give ourselves permission to.
We find quick fixes like that mid-day coffee or convincing ourselves to “rally and keep going!” We have begun to pride ourselves on how little we’ve slept and how much we’ve gotten done. We hustle, rinse and repeat.
Learning how to truly rest is incredibly healing. We NEED rest to feel balanced and at our best. Could a silver lining of this pandemic be reconnecting to ourselves and becoming in sync with our needs once again? Instead of overriding those internal limits that say “I’m hungry” or “I’m tired” we can learn how to slow down and listen. What would it be like for you to start experimenting with true forms of rest?
Here are 9 forms of rest to get you started:
1. Time away
2. Permission to not be helpful
3. Something “unproductive”
4. Connection to art and nature
5. Solitude to recharge
6. A break from responsibility
7. Stillness to decompress
8. Safe space
9. Alone time at home
What forms of rest do you enjoy? What forms are you interested in trying? What forms challenge you? I’d love to hear your thoughts, comment below!

By now, you may have heard about grounding, which is the process of bringing yourself back into the present moment and connecting with your environment. Grounding is particularly important for preventing and mitigating feelings of overwhelm. One of my favorite grounding activities is taking care of my plants. I have a very intentional morning ritual of watering my plants, which helps me to leave whatever came up during the night behind and start the day in a sturdy and refreshed way. I also find that observing my plants and taking in their beauty and rootedness sometimes suffices to bring me back in the present moment. Similarly, touching the soil and leaves activates my sense of touch and literally connects me back to the earth. Drawing my plants is another amazing way to bring me back into my window of tolerance. Some of my clients have shared with me that gardening has been a huge component of their healing process. Have you also experienced the grounding power of plants?
