July is Disability Pride Month! Did you know Denver has a long history of disability rights activism? The ADAPT (American Disabled for Attendant Programs Today) movement started in Denver in 1978 and continued into the 1990's. ADAPT were a group of activists who fought for disability rights, including accessible public transit.
