Last Sunday’s Dogs in Drag was everything we hoped it would be—and then some. A huge thank you to everyone who came out, cheered on our fabulous four-legged contestants, and helped us celebrate Pride in the most Briar Patch way possible.

A special shoutout to Amerikah J. Misdemeanor who absolutely brought the house down with a show-stopping performance of Defying Gravity. It was the perfect way to end an unforgettable afternoon.

But let’s be honest… the real stars of the show had four paws, wagging tails, and enough charisma, uniqueness, nerve, and talent to give any drag queen a run for their money. From glitter and gowns to bow ties and boas, every pup strutted the runway like they were born for it. We were so happy to give back to PawsCo

Thank you for making our patio a place where community, laughter, and a whole lot of dog hair come together. We can’t wait to do it again. ❤️🐶✨

It’s hard to say goodbye to Jyll and Under The Umbrella but we’re so happy to be giving her and the staff a proper send off! Cheers to all the years and great memories she created for the block. Congress Park won’t be the same. 😕

A rare sighting occurred on the Briar Patch patio tonight: two Jeffs in the same place at the same time.

Jeff, the GM, had the pleasure of meeting a four-legged guest who also happened to be named Jeff. Witnesses report both responded when their name was called, though Dog Jeff was clearly the more popular of the two.

Moments like these are exactly why we love our patio—good food, great company, and plenty of dogs who think they’re the main character (and honestly, they’re usually right).

Speaking of canine celebrities, tomorrow is our Dogs in Drag event! Join us as some of Congress Park’s most fabulous pups strut their stuff, serve their best looks, and compete for bragging rights. Costumes, charisma, and plenty of tail wags are guaranteed.

$20 ticket entrance fee that goes directly to PawsCo and our fabulous emcee Amerikah J. Misdemeanor is going to bring the house down with a couple performances before and after the Dog Fashion Show Extravaganza.

When one of our regulars asks if he can play the guitar on our patio…we say YES! We can’t wait to welcome Matt and his guitar tonight to serenade us. Come join us and listen to some amazing music.

Like so many of our neighbors, we’re devastated by the news that Under The Umbrella closed its doors.

Jyll and her team created so much more than a coffee shop—they built a gathering place that brought people together and made our neighborhood feel a little more connected.

To celebrate all they’ve meant to our community, join us for a Farewell Toast & Community Dinner on Sunday, June 21 from 4–8 PM. Drop in anytime to raise a glass, share a memory, and help us send Jyll and the entire Under The Umbrella team off in style.

We’ll miss them dearly, but we’d love to give them the sendoff they deserve. ❤️

Well… we did it.

The first Dog Wall is officially full. More than 200 dogs (and a couple of cats) now have their Polaroids hanging at Briar Patch.

What started as a silly little idea turned into one of our favorite things in the restaurant. Every Polaroid tells a story—puppies making their debut, neighborhood regulars, old friends, and a few that we miss dearly.

Thank you for sharing your best friends with us and helping make Briar Patch the kind of place where community is the common dominator.

Now it’s time for Wall #2. Here we go!
