We have a don't-miss workshop coming this fall - Bringing Your Photography Project to Publication: A Masterclass with Mary Virginia Swanson.
This two-day workshop is designed for photographers who are actively considering how to bring a body of work into publication. Through lectures, case studies, discussion, and project review, Mary Virginia Swanson will help participants better understand the many decisions involved in moving from photographic project to finished book.
Topics will include the differences between pursuing a traditional publisher and self-publishing, how to research publishers and opportunities, how to think about audience, and how sequencing, design, structure, and materials can support the content of the work. The workshop will also address practical aspects of photobook production, including grants, dummy awards, fundraising, contracts, marketing, and distribution.
Saturday, November 7th & Sunday, November 8th

Next we look at the work of Maureen Ruddy Burkhart, who has two pieces included in our 2026 Annual Member's Show!
Maureen says, "Allegories of Melancholy is a photographic study of the beauty and fragility of extant birds found in both protected spaces and endangered lands. Birds are the "canary in the coal mine" as human demands for land affect and endanger wildlife habitats. It’s an alarming trend, even here in Colorado where protected spaces are plentiful and well-funded."
Come to the CPAC Gallery to see these, and many other beautiful photographic works in our 2026 Annual Members' Show.
