Colorado Center for Aging
Colorado Center for Aging is a 501c3 non-profit organization, born out of the roots of Colorado Senior Lobby (CSL). Change that helps in that growth.

👏 23 aging advocates of all experience levels gathered at the Capitol for connection, learning, and advocacy at CCA's Learning in Action Day. We connected over breakfast and lunch, discussed priority issues and the long bill (budget), and spoke with legislators about preserving funding for Area Agencies on Aging and the Senior Homestead Tax Exemption. Participants grew their legislative advocacy knowledge and confidence, and elevated the experiences of older Coloradans who rely on these services and funds.
❤️ Thank you to our organizational members for helping make the day a success: Boulder County, A Little Help (ALH), Colorado Gerontological Society, AARP Colorado, and to Next50 for their generous sponsorship of this day and our Advocacy 101 Primer. We're stronger together. 💪

🌟Proud of these aging advocates, including CCA members, for showing up to protect older and vulnerable Coloradans from fraud and scams.
💰 According to AARP Colorado, rates of financial abuse, exploitation, and fraud/scams targeting vulnerable people are skyrocketing, with Colorado ranking 8th in the nation for reported elder fraud. HB26-1110: Vulnerable Adult Financial Exploitation Banking, will allow additional professionals- banking and credit union staff- to help prevent older Coloradans and vulnerable people from losing their hard-earned money to abusers or scammers.
🛑It gives these professionals the same protections that financial advisors have under a 2017 law to delay and hold possible fraudulent transactions and stop financial exploitation before it happens.

Colorado Senior Lobby
The Lobby focuses on issues and promotes beneficial legislation, while remaining strictly non-partisan and not supporting any specific political party or candidate.
Colorado Senior Lobby is a place where your voice can be heard. CSL encourages Colorado’s General Assembly, administrators, and state and local agencies to create and enact responsible policies and legislation and establish effective regulations and administrative guidelines that positively affect the quality of life of all Colorado older citizens.
CSL members work to influence change through education of public officials on current issues. CSL monitors legislation and administrative rule development to track and inform the public how legislators vote on bills related to senior issues and how legislation, once passed, is implemented. After the legislative session adjourns, the Senior Scorecard, a record of legislator votes on senior issues is distributed to CSL members and all state legislators.
