LatinasGive! is highlighting one of our founders today in honor of Women’s History Month! Adrienne Manzanares shares a little bit about herself and why she is a member of LatinasGive!. Take a look into this amazing LG member who is a trailblazer and fierce leader in our community.

📣Tell us briefly about yourself.
I work as the President & CEO of Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains, so my job keeps me very busy. But I also know how important it is to nurture all aspects of my life. I love spending time with family and friends; enjoy cooking and eating delicious foods; try to dive into compelling fiction novels as much as possible; and maintain a solid practice of exercising a few times a week.

🎉How do you celebrate Women’s History Month?
With Women's History Month comes a unique opportunity to witness the joy and creativity it inspires in female artists. I'm so appreciative of all the pictures, quotes, stories, and creative gifts shared during this time.

⭐️When and why did you initially join Latina's Give?
I joined Latina'sGive when it was formed because I was so inspired by the power of collective giving. We are so much stronger together and our philanthropy makes that much more of an impact as a giving circle.

💜Why do you continue to stay involved with Latina's Give?
I can't imagine my life without it! This community has become a part of who I am.

🙋‍♀️What would you say to someone who is thinking about joining Latina's Give?
If someone was thinking about joining, I'd recommend they come visit us at one of our meetings or events. There, she will be welcomed with love and energized by the generosity and beauty of our circle.

We celebrate women every day at LatinasGive! This week, we are highlighting a mother-daughter duo who are members of our group. We asked them a few questions about themselves, how they celebrate Women's History Month and why they are part of LatinasGive!. Learn more about Marti and Louise.

Marti's responses:
I am a wife and a mother of two grown sons (ages 24 and 31). My private passion is spending time and traveling the world with my family. My career passion is education, and I work as a Bilingual Special Education Itinerant assessing multilingual students within the Denver Public schools (28 years).
This year I celebrated Women's History Month by personally acknowledging the women who have been the biggest influences in my personal life.
I initially joined LG in 2016. I loved the idea of being able to make a larger impact by pooling together financial and other resources with like-minded Latinas in order to support more projects than I could do by myself. I love the fact that LG allows us the ability to collectively decide where we want to allocate our funds. Over the past several years, I have seen firsthand the amazing impact that our smaller contributions have made in our local Denver communities. LG members have collectively given almost $300,000 to date! Please consider joining us, LG is a great opportunity to become a true philanthropist in your community and to make a difference in the causes that matter most to you.

Louise's responses:
I am retired from the Applied Learning Center at Metropolitan State University. I love traveling, gardening and playing golf. Normally, I celebrate International Women's day by reflecting on my past accomplishments and on the accomplishments of all women. My daughter convinced me to join LG several years ago and I am so happy that I joined. LG has given me hope because I am helping to build stronger foundations and communities locally.
Please consider joining our LG giving circle, it gives oneself a sense of accomplishment and self-gratitude by witnessing the results of our collective contributions. Plus, you will become a philanthropist and that alone deserves a huge pat on the back.
