I know 14 external hard drives sounds a little insane 😂 but I care SO much about keeping my couples’ photos and videos safe forever. Between hard drives, a massive Dropbox account, Google Drive backups, and backups of backups, I never want to risk losing something that means this much to someone. These aren’t just “files” to me. They’re people’s memories, families, stories, and the biggest day of their lives. 🤍

But honestly… I also just love looking back on all of my weddings and sessions. I keep everything because every couple becomes a friend to me in some way, and it means the world that they trusted me to capture such an important part of their story. I truly mean it every time I tell my couples how honored I am to be there.

I also take a ton of extra behind the scenes videos throughout wedding days and sessions, partly to share with my couples, but also because I love studying them afterward. Kinda like athletes watching film after a game 😂 I look back at posing, lighting, timelines, reactions, movement, what worked well, what I could improve, and how I can serve my future couples even better.

This job means so much to me, and I never want myself or anyone on my team to forget what we’re actually there for. Your wedding day deserves sincerity, care, intention, and people who treat it with the seriousness and heart it deserves.

It’s also why I always ask every couple for one photo together with me at the end of the night 🥹 It’s my one big ask every wedding day. I LOVE being able to look back at all the photos of me with my couples on one of the biggest days of their lives. It’ll probably always be one of my favorite parts of this job. ✨

When planning your ceremony—especially if your site isn’t a traditional venue—I recommend checking where the sun will be during your ceremony on your wedding day. This helps you decide where to stand to avoid harsh light or shadows on you and your partner’s faces during the vows.

While the right photographer can help fix lighting in post-editing, it’s always best to plan ahead! 🌤️
Apps like Sun Tracker, Shadowmap, and Sunlitt can show you the sun’s position for your exact date and time so you can find the perfect ceremony setup.

If you have any questions about lighting or need help planning your ceremony layout, I’m always happy to help—or if you’re still searching for your wedding photographer, I’d love to chat about capturing your day! ✨
