Flashback one year and some change ago. We were on an epic job with Jordan Lutes, Dani Lutes, Michele Fleury and our tech Brandon Friend-Solis in the hot Caribbean sun. It is such a privilege to be awarded projects like these. Beautiful private island AKA Coco Cay or Royal Caribbean's Perfect Day Island. Beautiful almost never means easy in production terms. We needed to fly a heavy lift drone with our Phase One IQ4 as the payload. Our amazing pilot John Graham had some steep challenges to pull this off. We have done this several times before but this time there was no room for error. In the middle of the ocean with absolutely no resources, preparation was paramount to say the least. Together with John we were able to put together an airtight system for flying this beast of a camera. Once in the air, Jordan and Dani were able to see the images in real time using live view and could trigger the camera from the ground with custom made servos. Heat was also an issue. If needed we were prepared to shield the camera with mylar and heatsinks. Being able to fly a 151MP camera in the air with full control opens up so many opportunities that were not available before.
