This spring, one of our amazing volunteers took it upon herself to design some shirts for the sanctuary, and plans to make them available to the public at the Des Moines Reptile Expo on the 19th!
We’ll be there with these, frozen feeders, and one more exciting addition that we’ll make a separate post about soon!

We’re going to do another Frozen Feeder Pop Up at Elevator this weekend! Call for availability before you head our way, just to make sure!
This is at 204 12th St. Des Moines, IA, Sunday 2-5 PM (Parking will be on the South Side on Mulberry St.). Doors will be locked, but we will come out to you if you give us a call at (712)592-0758.
Also if you have any donations we can accept those at this time as well!

Our hearts go out to our friends over at Blank Park this week, the loss of an animal that is near and dear to your heart is one of the hardest realities to face as a caretaker…
Ross the Harbor Seal was an absolutely incredible animal, a rescue that captivated many generations, was adored far and wide, and impacted some so heavily that they ended up on their body as a tattoo.
As a staff opportunity, we were blessed to tag along for a scheduled training thanks to one of his incredible caretakers, Zaira. As staff we are always looking for new ways to enrich and diversify our approach to the work that we do, and seeing the care and dedication put into these animals is awe-inspiring.
While we had heard about Ross long before we ever got to meet him, his memory is not one we will soon forget either.
