April is Fair Housing Awareness Month, a time to reflect on the importance of equitable housing and our shared responsibility to create communities where everyone feels welcomed and respected. Guided by the principles of the Fair Housing Act, we are reminded that fair housing is more than a legal requirement; it is a commitment to treating every individual with dignity and ensuring equal access to opportunity.

This year’s theme, “Fair Housing: Where Everyone Belongs,” encourages us to move beyond basic compliance and focus on real-life application, awareness, and accountability in our daily interactions. We all play a role in supporting fair housing, whether through inclusive communication, consistent service, or thoughtful decision-making.

Together, we can help ensure that the places we serve are communities where fairness leads, opportunity is shared, and everyone truly belongs.

As we wrap up Women’s History Month, we celebrate Christina Mao, Leasing Consultant at Broadmoor Apartments in Henrico, VA.

Christina is being recognized for her resilience as both a mother of five and an incredible teammate. She was described as “a true example of what dedication and heart look like.”
