Greater East Side Development

Hey neighbors don't forget. Those living in Polk County have until this Sunday to go down and apply for Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program. It is available for Boone, Jasper, Polk, Poweshiek and Story County residents who were impacted by the derecho and subsequent power outages on August 10, 2020. Eligible families will receive D-SNAP in an amount equal to one month of the maximum amount of Food Assistance/SNAP benefits, based on household size.
Current Food Assistance recipients are not eligible to receive D-SNAP benefits as they already received the maximum allotment of Food Assistance benefits for their household size for August and September

Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Program (D-SNAP) | Iowa Department of Human Services To keep wait times to a minimum, DHS is asking applicants to apply at the site in their county of residence and to follow the schedule below based on the first letter of last names. However, persons may apply at any time during the D-SNAP application period.
