Congratulations to Peyton from Troop 182 in Ankeny on earning his Eagle Scout rank and completing every merit badge Scouting America offers.
For his Eagle Scout project, Peyton built raised garden beds for an assisted living home in his community. The project took planning, teamwork, and many hours of work, from assembling the beds to hauling in soil. In the end, seeing how much the residents enjoyed the gardens made it all worth it.
Peyton joined Scouting a few years before COVID-19 and began taking online merit badge classes during that time to stay engaged and keep learning. What started as a way to stay busy quickly turned into a goal to earn every badge. With support from his troop leaders and mentors, he achieved that goal.
Through his journey, Peyton gained more than just knowledge. He built confidence, curiosity, and a strong commitment to leadership and service. His story is a great example of setting big goals and following through.
Way to go, Peyton!
