This new piece was inspired by the quote above. The base is a 6 × 9 × 2 inch depth, wooden, vintage cigar box. The subject is portrayed in an intimate little scene of a child with his eyes closed, playing a violin. There sits beside him, (and above him), "soothed" animals in the wild, in a sweet, secluded forest of pinks, mauves, and browns, with a touch of shimmery silver and gold. There are sea shells and brick chips, transfer ware, crash glass and wooden flowers. There is a basket of apples and a hand made wooden ladder. This piece can be hung on the wall or set table top.

A custom birthday gift for a very special human being, just turning 10. She designed her bedroom, updating in coquette style, and this personalized mirror frame would be one of the focal points.. From raw base to finished piece, with recipe ingredients. I really wish the final photo had been taken in better lighting to show off its honest coloring. This was a fun and smooth process for me (not always the case) and I enjoyed every minute of its creation. Tea cups and birds, teddy bears and angels, vintage jewelry and an antique camio are all part of the whole. There is a gold heart broach, a glittery butterfly, vintage plastic pink flowers, a ceramic july calendar (her birthday month), an Avon bottle from the 60s, with perfume still inside, and a little ceramic baby goat, adorning the top center, surrounded by rose buds in honor of a dearly departed beloved farm pet named Rosey. This was SUCH a special piece for me to make, as is the precious little one that it was made for. I am gearing up for holiday season making, and planning out my calendar.
