Liz Mathis

The Hiawatha Economic Development Corporation (HEDCO) leadership and board members have approved the appointment of Liz Mathis to fill the newly created HEDCO Economic Development Coordinator position.

"Liz has years of experience working on business growth and understanding the issues surrounding workforce development and shortages, " said Dennis Marks, Hiawatha City Manager. "We are pleased she will join us, to help Hiawatha thrive."

Mathis is a resident of Hiawatha, a former broadcast journalist, retired Four Oaks employee, and was a State Senator from Linn County. She begins her duties on November 1.
