Invasive lionfish are bad for local sea life -- but good for eating - CNN Video Lionfish are an invasive species that are plaguing the Gulf of Mexico, destroying habitats for other fish. Now, divers are trying to control their numbers by catching lionfish and selling them to upscale local restaurants.

The last couple days have been a blast diving with great friends! Bonus was landing a few fish.

This past weekend we participated in the Pensacola Lionfish Classic. We left the dock super early and dove all day Saturday to put together the winning box of fish. So proud of my teammates and their ex*****on of safe dives to the tune of 419 lionfish!

Some great adventures over the past week. The middle grounds were a great time with John and Miles! We got to show the fwc a couple of our fish from the trip.
