Meet Ivan Baines, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Nick Gilbert Neurofibromatosis Research Institute (NGNRI), who has been working with Gilbert Family Foundation on its NF research initiatives since 2019.

Recruited by Nick Gilbert and inspired by Nick's relentless optimism, Ivan came to Detroit to help Gilbert Family Foundation accelerate a cure for neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1). As COO and Project Lead for NGNRI, Ivan is excited for NGNRI to be the first brick-and-mortar facility in the world dedicated exclusively to neurofibromatosis research and creating improved treatments and cures for NF1.
