Kappa Psi - Mu Omicron Pi Chapter

It was a great weekend I'm Traverse City for the Michigan Pharmacists Association Annual Convention and Exposition. The Mu Omicron Pi brothers of Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical Fraternity showed up in full force to network, learn, and advocate for our profession. A big congratulations to brother Justin Zimmerman for winning this year's OTC Competition with his Wayne State Eugene Applebaum College Of Pharmacy teammates. Brother Joseph Paul Pacis Javier was on the winning team that beat the STI Escape Room, answering questions on STI prevention and treatment. Lastly, kudos to Brothers Remoun Kattoula, Obioma Opara, and Joseph Paul Javier for participating in this year's House of Delegates session where they worked on resolutions calling for increased HIV PrEP/PEP education as well as pathways for pharmacists to get reimbursement for clinical services offered. We look forward to attending MPA-ACE next year in Lansing!

It was a very insightful day for our Mu Omicron Pi brothers Obioma Opara, Remoun Kattoula, and Joseph Paul Javier. They visited the Detroit Medical Center to visit their WSU Eugene Applebaum College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences professors at work and learn about ambulatory care pharmacy. Dr. Candice Garwood and Dr. Helen Berlie shared what a day in the life of an ambulatory care pharmacist looks like. From diabetes management to treating the chronic conditions of geriatric patients, our chapter thanks Dr. Garwood and Dr. Berlie for sharing your time and expertise with our brothers!

As the active chapter prepares for the start of the Fall Semester, we would like to thank all of our alumni brothers that supported our Founder's Day Celebration which took place over the summer. From attending the event and sharing their wisdom about the profession of pharmacy, recounting stories from their time studying at WSU Eugene Applebaum College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, honoring the memories of brothers who have passed, donating their time and financial blessings to renovate our beloved chapter house, and celebrating the nearly 100 years of brotherhood as Mu Omicron Pi, this year's Founder's Day was a great success.
