🔥 LIGHT UP Livernois

📍 Between 6 Mile and 8 Mile
A free fashion, art and design street festival happening along the historic Livernois Avenue of Fashion, home to one of the nation’s largest Black-owned business districts. Make it a day exploring the Ave and celebrating Detroit fashion and local businesses.
🎤 Backwoods and Bonfires Music Festival
📆 Saturday, July 11
📍 The Eastern Detroit
Detroit’s biggest locally grown underground music festivals returns this Saturday with multiple performances, food trucks, local vendors and a full day celebrating the city’s hip-hop and rap scene. This year’s lineup includes Rob49 and more.
🪁 Detroit Kite Festival
📆 Sunday, July 12
📍 Belle Isle Cricket Field
Detroit Kite Festival returns to Belle Isle for a colorful day of kite flying, music, food and drinks near the James Scott Memorial Fountain. You can bring your own kite and kites will also be available to purchase on-site.
💜 Blake Farms Lavender Festival
📆 Friday-Sunday, July 10-12
📍 Blake’s Orchard & Cider Mill, Armada
Escape to the lavender fields at Blake’s with train rides to the lavender field, U-cut lavender, lavender-inspired food and drinks, kids’ activities, and an open-air marketplace featuring Michigan-made artisan vendors.
🌍 African World Festival with Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History
📆 Friday-Sunday, July 10-12
📍 Hart Plaza
One of the nation’s largest celebrations of the African diaspora. A longstanding Detroit tradition, the annual event features live performances, dancing, storytelling, DJs, drum showcases, and dozens of vendors with African art, fashion, books, jewelry, food and more.
