The Rockets Singer David Gilbert

TBT BABY ! Dave Gilbert was singing his heart out at The Holiday Inn Bloomfield with Val Ventro 1996 when Arthur Penthallow and Punch Andrews showed up. It was a great gig and party. The Late David Leone manager of the Howling Diablos was at the door taking cover charge. It was a great gig. I worked at the hotel and we stayed the weekend. What a fantastic crowd .

As I drove home from my shift Monday listening to WRIF , Arthur came on the radio and was asked what he did over the weekend and he said; " I went and heard Dave Gilbert of The Rockets and baby ! He has still has got it! He went on to rave about David. I was freaking out driving up Woodward.

We were both working jobs and I came home for supper to meet Dave after he got off work and told him that they were talking about him on the radio. He smiled so big. It made him super happy.

David was a working man and still had music projects going on but I have to say , I think that beautiful soulful husband of mine thought he was forgotten. He was not.

If he only knew how now the mass of fans and friends on the internet who love him and his bigger than life voice of The Rockets , today in 2026 , He would be diggin it, big time !

This man did not just have talent , he was ego less unlike many musicians . Everything posted on this page is for David. He deserves remembrance as the front man driving force of The Rockets Gone too soon DLG, Missed and Loved.

I don't know how Arthur is doing . I send him love. Everyone really misses him on the radio !
