Southeastern Michigan Traumatic Brain Injury System
We are a traumatic brain injury (TBI) research program funded through the National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research (NIDRR).
The SEMTBIS team is excited to be part of a new study! The BeHealthy: Chronic Disease Management for Traumatic Brain Injury grant is a five year study funded by the National Institute of Disability, Independent Living, and Rehabilitation Research. All of the federally funded 16 Traumatic Brain Injury Model Systems will be involved in this $500,000 funded study. The primary focus of this grant is to develop new knowledge and information about potential characteristics and adaptability of evidence-based chronic disease models for people with traumatic brain injury, and to put together an model to improve long-term outcomes after brain injury that can be used by health care providers and policy makers.
