SCAM ALERT‼️‼️‼️🚨🚨🚨

There is a fraudulent “production company” attempting to hire Detroit based film crew and using paperwork to steal your identity/get you to wire transfer money up front to rent equipment. They go by and they are completely illegitimate. New social, no website, based in Saudi Arabia. They don’t know position titles or how the business works and they ask for your personal information up front and offer payment right away, which are all red flags.

This comes at a slow time, and I’m sure some of us are a bit more susceptible to this type of thing out of desperation. But remember, a real production company will NEVER ask your personal bank information up front, and they will NEVER offer payment up front either.

Be smart and always play it safe. If it feels weird or too good to be true, trust your instincts. And remember to reach out to others in the industry for advice. We have a powerful, tight community. Use it and trust it.
