Special moment: our President, Rainy Hamilton Jr., reconnecting with fellow Cass Tech Class of 1974 alum David Alan Grier — a reminder of the legacy and excellence rooted right here in Detroit.
An inspiring evening celebrating visionaries like Harold Curry and Founder Renee Fluker, and the impact they continue to make.

City of Oak Park Strategic Economic Development
✨ From Vision to Reality: Oak Park’s Strategic Rise ✨
We love when a plan comes together. Literally.
Back in 2014, Hamilton Anderson Associates had the honor of helping shape the future of Oak Park, MI and today, we’re proud to have witnessed that vision in motion over the years.💡🏙️
Like many mid-century suburban cities, Oak Park knew change was coming and embraced it with a Strategic Economic Development Plan that invited collaboration, creativity, and community voices.
With our partners at Gibbs Planning Group, we analyzed everything from market data to field observations and turned it into a roadmap of action tailored to the people, potential, and personality of Oak Park.

🎯 Specific recommendations. Real timelines. Vision-led transformation.
👥 Led by City Manager Erik Tungate and an engaged public ready for change.
This wasn’t just about paper plans, it was about people, perspective, and progress. And we’re grateful to have been a part of it.

🖤 Celebrating a Trailblazer: Lynda Haith
Today we honor Lynda Haith, the first Black woman architect licensed in Michigan, a true pioneer whose path helped expand possibilities for architects of color in Detroit and beyond. After graduating from Lawrence Technological University, she became licensed in 1983 a milestone achieved just four decades after Beverly Lorraine Greene became the first Black woman in U.S. history to be licensed in 1942.
At a time when Black women were almost invisible in the profession, Lynda stepped forward with tenacity, graduating and becoming the first Black woman licensed to practice architecture in Michigan. She began her career in Detroit at firms such as Albert Kahn Associates and Griffin, Ward & Agee, and went on to found her own practice, HAITH Architecture, contributing not only to the built environment but also to a legacy of mentorship and representation.
Her work set the stage for the generations that followed. In a profession where less than 3% of licensed architects are Black and only about 0.4% are Black women, Lynda, Beverly, our very own Michele Robinson and so many others to follow are a testament to perseverance, passion, and breaking barriers.
We honor her legacy and continue building it.

Oakland University Welcome Center 🎓✨
We love and believe in the power of Higher Education and we’re proud to help shape the spaces that inspire the next generation.
At Oakland University, we had the privilege of transforming part of North Foundation Hall into a welcoming gateway for prospective students. Working closely with OU staff, we led a master planning effort focused on enhancing the student experience before the campus tour even begins. From the parking lot to the new presentation room, every design decision was made with intention.
The result? A refreshed Welcome Center that now serves as the official starting point for student tours, offering comfort, clarity, and a true sense of arrival.

Even though this space was completed in 2013, it still looks just as good today as it did when it first opened. That’s the power of purposeful design. 🙌🏾
