One of my favorite things about the veil is the invitation to intimacy. Yes, that word may be a loaded word. But my favorite definition of intimacy is "to know and to be fully known."

A wedding celebrates the invitation to each other to know and to be fully known by the other. Where before, a veil separates the other from this privilege, the wedding day removes that veil.

Why do we love this shot of wrapping each other in the veil? Yes it looks beautiful, but the symbolism is much more powerful than the image itself.

Congratulations you two! May you be fully known by each other and wrapped up by that exclusive oneness that only exists in a marriage!
