Are you a new or young driver? Are you the parent of one?

Join the Dover Police Department this Saturday, July 18, 2026, from 10AM to 12PM for a FREE Driver Safety Workshop designed to help new drivers better understand the rules of the road and what to expect during interactions with law enforcement.

• Learn common NH traffic laws involving drivers, bicyclists, and pedestrians
• Watch a video demonstrating what happens during a routine traffic stop
• Review crash trends and roadway safety information specific to Dover
• Participate in a mock traffic stop with a police officer

This program is intended to educate, build confidence, and promote safer travel for everyone on our roadways. It also gives young drivers the opportunity to experience a traffic stop in a safe, educational environment, and ask questions.

This program is made possible through a Community Outreach and Betterment Grant from the New Hampshire Office of Highway Safety.

Due to a water main break, Portland Avenue, from Main Street to Chapel Street is closed to traffic. Water service is also shut off. Community Services crews are on site and working on repairs.
