⚾️ PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT FROM DOVER YOUTH BASEBALL ⚾️

After an extensive search, we’re disappointed to report that we have still been unable to confirm the attendance of any MLB scouts at our Dover Youth Baseball recreation games.

In the meantime, we’d like to gently remind everyone that:

* The 10-year-old who struck out looking will, in fact, survive.
* The volunteer coach is probably trying their best.
* The volunteer scorekeeper is not part of a conspiracy.
* And the umpire you’re yelling at may very well be a local teenager earning a few dollars and giving back to the game.

Youth sports should be about teaching kids teamwork, sportsmanship, resilience, and how to handle adversity. As adults, we’re expected to model those same qualities from the stands.

Passion is great. Supporting your player is great. Cheering loudly is great.

Disrespecting umpires, coaches, volunteers, players, or other families is not.

Our goal is to provide a fun, positive experience for every child who steps on the field. We ask everyone to help us create an environment where kids can learn, compete, and enjoy the game without unnecessary negativity.

Let’s keep the focus where it belongs: on the kids.
