I'm ready for Fall! So to cool things down, here is a photo from a few years ago of an aspen criss-cross forest on a dirt road between Ridgway and Telluride. My friend, Mike Jones showed me where this amazing area was, but not before almost navigating us down a muddy ravine that we we very nearly got stuck in. I still think it was a push from some guardian angels that got us out of the muck. Neverthless, bring on cooler temperatures!

From Crater Lake near the Maroon Bells, this morning image shows columbine along the trail between Maroon Lake and Crater Lake, making great scenery for a cool, crisp walk. Just watch out for bears and moose :-)

I don't often shoot with the intent of converting to black and white, but I did for this image. Taken yesterday morning along the Pedernales River, storm clouds were rumbling in the east.
