HUGE THANKS to the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Dubuque for having us this week to share our love of robotics and FTC. We loved the thoughtful questions everyone had and were impressed with the creations they made during our STEM activity. Definitely saw lots of engineers in the making!

Robo Raptors and Royal Robots—Season Send"t" Off!

Our competition season has come to an end—and what a season it was! We made it to state, with our sister team! We built two competitive robots this season, learning a lot along the way. We made new friends, took chances, failed, succeeded, planned events, coded, built, fundraised, picked up new skills, challenged ourselves and each other. We had an amazing group of supporters and teammates.

FTC Iowa State Championship Recap:

Robo Raptors finished our season in 18th place in the Gold Division matches out of 36 teams.

Royal Robots finished their matches in 4th place in the Black Division out of 36 teams. This earned them the 4th place Alliance Captain position for the double elimination tournament! They moved up to the 3rd place Alliance Captain after initial alliances were picked. Royal wrapped up their season after participating in the double elimination tournament.

Beyond the field, both teams had fun showcasing their season during their judges interviews and in their team pits.

To top it off, our amazing Coach Sendt received the Compass Award for being her awesome self and helping us grow!

The Robo Raptors and Royal Robots want to thank all of our supporters—our coaches, mentors, families, sponsors, community partners, community members and each other! We learned so much and grew a ton. It was an amazing season!

As we count down to state we’re looking back at our meets from this season to appreciate the experiences and all we have learned!

MEET REFLECTION: Bettendorf League Meet 1/31/2026
We did much better at pre-planning with our alliances and broke out of our shells more with talking to other teams. We still had some connection issues on our robot with caused unfortunate penalties due to being in the wrong place during the disconnect. We were communicating better during matches but needed to be a little bit louder for everyone to hear. Going forward, we worked on wire management to improve our disconnect issues and we knew we needed to turn up our voices.
