I love my job ❤️💈🐝

So last week was literally the best week of my life. I was asked to join a band (P.O.P.), had an extremely flattering piece about myself and released in the newspaper, had my interview on released, was interviewed by the TV news, and won Prom Queen at the q***r prom. The voting for q***r prom was done by applause and the cheering and applause was surreal for me. I have never cried so much in a week and they were all happy tears.

I'm not the best at taking praise but in that moment of applause at the prom, I felt like I truly saw my impact. All these people who get what I'm trying to do and want to live as freely as I want to. It's wild to think that Deep Cuts turns 2 years old next month. Time flies when you're surrounded by love. My island of misfit toys, OUR island of misfit toys that brings us together, thriving.

Home is a feeling and it's one that I never had before I moved to Duluth. I seriously can't see myself leaving. I love the Twin Ports. I love my community. I love the art scene. I love the music scene. I love all the folks in the drag scene here. I love that I spend every day at work talking to my friends. I love that I get to work side by side daily with my best friend and who is like a little brother to me. I love that has created a much needed safe space for folks to get waxed in. I love Duluth. There's no place like home ❤️
