Finished up our winter “move”. My daughter Emily Holter, her husband Erik, daughter Halle and son Ruxen spent the last week with us. I took the boys fishing with V.O. Charters and Capt Victoria Ortiz. She did not disappoint. Ruxen caught one of the biggest reds I’ve seen in the four years of fishing with her. He did great. Erik was a sleeper up front. I’d turn around and he’d have another one on. The guys were using the new TRIKA 10x with a TI 3100 spinning reel. According to my grandson they’re “Awesome!” I have to agree. If you’re ever in the South Padre Island, Texas area, look her up and give those reds a shot.

Recent trip up to Lake of the Woods was a blast. We were jigging Lindy BMax jigs in 22-25’ of water and on the rock humps. The hooks are stiffer and seem to transmit subtle bites better. Loved them.
