This person will be responsible and accountable for administrative and organizational support of our company. This is an in-office position, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. in a fun, relaxed, and supportive work environment! We are looking for Skilled Carpenters to join our crew! Our schedule consists of 40-hour work weeks, Monday through Friday with limited overtime hours. We are looking for employees that can work in all weather conditions; have excellent verbal communication skills; have the ability to work well with others, but can also work independently and unsupervised; have a willingness to learn new construction skills, will perform all duties assigned by the Project Manager; must be able to pass a drug and background screening; etc. We offer competitive wages, supplemental benefit options including dental and also offer a Simple IRA retirement option.

The majority of our jobsites are located within a 30-mile radius of the Duluth/Superior area. You must be able to provide your own reliable transportation to and from our project locations.

Today we spotlight yet another one of Northern Trends finest employees, Ryan Merritt, as we celebrate his 20th Anniversary!
Ryan is loyal, honest, detail oriented and very knowledgeable. He has a great sense of humor and is one amazing Carpenter! When he is not working he enjoys, uh . . . working . . . on race cars, of course! His favorite hobby is drag racing at Brainerd International Raceway! We are incredibly proud to call you a member of our family (literally) . . . you are much more than an employee, coworker and friend (obviously, LOL). Today we would like to spotlight one of Northern Trends’ finest employees, James Erickson, on his 20th Anniversary with a little throwback picture from the year 2000! James, or as we like to call him, “Ole”, is very detail oriented, knowledgeable, dependable, honest, has a great sense of humor and is one fantastic Carpenter! We are incredibly proud to call you a member of our family . . . you are much more than an employee, coworker and friend. Happy Holiday's Everyone!!

Yesterday we said our final goodbye to our dear friend and coworker Evan Parkhouse. Evan’s passing has been an incredibly difficult and unexpected loss for our Northern Trends family. He was such a talented carpenter with a goofy sense of humor. He was an all around great guy. We’ve had repeat customers who have requested Evan on their projects referring to him as the “most handsome employee Northern Trends has.” He was the model type of employee that you dread attempting to replace. It isn’t easy to find an employee with many of the core values we build our company around . . . hard work, honesty, dedication and quality craftsmanship. He possessed them all. We truly value those that we are fortunate enough to employ with these qualities and hold tight to them.
Our hearts are breaking for his family, his wife and his young children as they begin their new journey in life without him. We are so grateful for all of the support our employees, family, friends and clients have shown in their donations and prayers to Evan’s family. We are humbled to know that we are surrounded by such kind, generous and loving people. Thank you all. You are simply the best.

We are absolutely heartbroken to know that one of our own is facing such a devastating health battle. Evan Parkhouse has been an integral part of our Northern Trends family for several years now. He is a very skilled and talented carpenter who just happens to be one of the nicest guys you could ever know. We are all so hopeful that he will make a full recovery, but realize that this may be a very long and difficult road for Evan, his wife Natalie and their two young children ages 2 years and 2 months old. We have had several subcontractors, vendors and clients reach out to us asking how they can help. We are overwhelmed by the kindness and generosity of these offers and are now able to share this link to his family’s Go Fund Me page in hopes that we can help relieve some of the mounting medical costs that he and his family will be faced with.
