The Creative Cabinet

Sometimes there’s an issue in the community everyone knows about — and it just takes that one person to bring everyone together to solve it. Raising her family in Overland Park, Kansas, Melissa Cheatham organized neighbors and stakeholders to install a long overdue crosswalk — improving safety for kids and the quality of life for the area. That belief in the power of co-operation is why Melissa is running for Overland Park City Council: in one of best places to live in the country, it will take people willing to work with everyone, to protect what’s special, welcome new residents, and build a sustainable community. We love Melissa’s energy, and loved helping her make her video!

Volunteering with Creative Cabinet and helping build a tiny quarterly publication with Life in 10 Minutes Press, have helped me hit the refresh button and stay connected with wonderful people.
