Southwest Rescue
Trainings and Certifications in Wilderness Medicine, Swiftwater Rescue, Technical Rope Rescue, and Avalanche Education
Shallow water crossing (wading) is a crucial skill for rescue personnel. Almost all flood rescues contain an element of wading. Crucially, the ideal training spot should contain water that is powerful enough to be challenging, while not being easily swimmable. This site has about 18 inches of water, and swimming was possible but miserable. Walking was by far preferable, but not easy.
