Skinning in the backcountry is never an easy task.. sometimes you question what in the hell you are doing.. sometimes you don’t know if your legs are going to get you to the top.. you are in a constant fight with your mind while in one of the most dangerous places on earth where there is no room for failure.. however, after a point you become at peace, your heart rate slows and you lock fully into the mission. When you reach the top you ponder on all the thoughts you had going up, looking at all the places you felt exhausted and didn't think you could go any further.
Just like in life it does suck at points and sometimes you feel like you're never going to get to where you want. Your mind can be your greatest ally or your darkest enemy. It will tell you that nothing is possible but believe me if you lock in and slow everything down you can get through ANYTHING.

The one constant thing in life is change and a yearly reminder for me is during fall.
I tend to forget this from time to time while I’m trying to control things in my life. The only way to deal with change is to be aware of it, accept it, and then grow from it. Try not to to fight it just dance with it.

I saw a quote the other day about how dogs are only in our life’s for a glimpse so we should love them every second. This shot was taken 2 weeks before Bruce lost his fight to cancer. My friend took Bruce on a victory lap to all the places they went together throughout Georgia and Colorado when he found out the cancer prognosis. It’s one of the best things I’ve ever heard of anyone doing for their pup. It comes to no surprise it was because he loves not only his dog but the people around him every second and never takes the time for granted. Everyone should drive to be more like that. Happy Birthday week glad to have met you.
