Some folks around Durant say if you hear an owl at night… you listen.

Not because it’s something to fear—
but because it might be trying to tell you something.

In Choctaw tradition, the horned owl—often called Ishkitini—isn’t just another sound in the woods. It’s a messenger. A warning. A reminder that not everything we hear out there is random.

And if you’ve ever been out near the trees by Lake Texoma… you know the feeling.

That moment when it gets quiet.
Then you hear it.
A call… closer than it should be.

People say:
“Don’t go in those woods at night.”
“Something was watching me.”
“I heard knocking… like it was following me.”

Maybe it’s just the woods.

Or maybe it’s something older than that.

Hill Of Bones

I keep hearing about Bigfoot sightings around Texoma.

Just met a farmer the other day out in Bokchito that said he heard one crashing through the woods, angry, breaking trees. Calves running.

He told me that in the 80’s the local Gov paid cattle farmers to kill their cattle on a hill across the street. We assumed it was to decrease the population in a market lacking demand.

Since then, odd things have been happening on, and around that hill of bones.

Posting a video soon of a raccoon that had its legs skinned, but the rest of the body left intact…

Another Bullshark has been spotted swimming up a creek off Lake Texoma. The photographer almost didn’t not make it after the shark lunged out of the water to attack.

Be careful out there folks. These lake sharks are getting more aggressive by the day due to overfishing and their food sources being rapidly depleted.
