Drawing on her own experience as a cancer survivor, DCI's Sophia Smith, PhD, led the development and testing of the Cancer Distress Coach app—supported by federal funding—which has been shown to significantly reduce PTSD, anxiety, and depression symptoms while improving access to mental health support for cancer survivors.
