IMPORTANT UPDATE: Northern and Parkwood Convenience sites are scheduled to reopen at 12:30pm today. *Redwood will remain closed due to hazardous conditions.* Monday's recycling collection has been moved to Wednesday. Tuesday's recycling collection is occurring today. (City residents will need to check with the City of Durham for their updates).

Monday 1/26/26 Update: Our Convenience Sites will be closed and recycling for unincorporated residents has been cancelled. Road conditions must improve for recycling to resume, and it's too early to know exactly how that will play out. We will update you as soon as we know more.

All Durham County Government non-essential operations and offices will be closed on Monday, January 26, 2026, due to the continuing winter weather conditions affecting Central North Carolina. This closure includes all Durham County Library branches, all County Convenience Sites, and suspension of roadside recycling collection.

The Board of County Commissioners’ meeting scheduled for Monday, January 26, will be cancelled. The agenda items will be moved to their Work Session to be held on Monday, February 2.
