This summer heat doesn’t have to stop gorgeous blooms! To keep your plants blooming through the hottest months of the year, you should
-water deeply, not daily
-add 2-3 layers of mulch at plants base to keep soil cool and reduce evaporation
-feed blooming plants every 2-4 weeks with slow release fertilizers (avoid too much nitrogen which will just promote leaves, not blooms!)
-trim leggy plants about 1/3 if they’ve stopped blooming (esp coreopsis, catmint, salvia, nepeta, geraniums)
