She loves walking the trails of Caponi Art Park—a place woven into her family’s story. Her husband spent countless hours caring for the property, and one day, while working with his tractor, accidentally bumped this birch tree. It became one of those stories that simply became part of the landscape.

When she learned the beloved birch tree was dying and would have to be removed, she noticed this remarkable piece of bark. Shaped by nature and marked by that long-ago moment, it wasn’t simply part of a tree—it was a way to honor the memory of her husband, his love for the park, and the life they shared together.

We preserved it exactly as nature created it, floating it in an Artique Pebble mat and surrounding it with the quiet simplicity of a Larson-Juhl Kanso Mocha frame. No glazing—allowing every ridge, texture, and imperfection to remain beautifully present, just as nature intended.

This family captured one of those perfect moments—the kind where the water is still, the sky seems endless, and for a little while, life slows down.

Instead of letting the photo live on a phone or a hard drive, they had it printed on canvas, stretched by hand, and framed in beautifully weathered barn wood that feels right at home with the lakeshore scene.

Some trips come home in a suitcase. Others come home on the wall.

While traveling in Vietnam, this customer found an art piece that stopped him in his tracks.

The challenge?

It had to be meaningful enough to bring home, small enough to carry onto the plane, and worthy of a place in his office.

When he brought it to us, the design discussion immediately turned to the frame.

And if we’re honest… we fought the orange.

We tried black. We tried white. We even explored green and blue metal frames.

Truthfully, they all looked fine.

But that’s the thing.

Fine isn’t the goal.

None of them made the artwork come alive.

Every time we moved away from orange, the piece seemed to lose a little bit of its personality.

The moment we stopped trying to make a safer choice and put it in the orange metal frame, everything clicked.

The personality.

The energy.

The fun.

The confidence.

Now when we look at the finished piece, we can’t believe we didn’t trust it right away.

The other frames looked fine.

This one looks inevitable.

Now these three lovable pups have a permanent home in his office, along with a reminder of an unforgettable trip to Vietnam.

And honestly?
