𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗺𝘂𝗰𝗵 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗼𝗹𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗺𝗲?🔽

With our Garden Helper maintenance add-on, you’ll only need to spend 5-10 minutes a day checking your soil and watering, harvesting, and looking for early signs of problems like pests or disease. That’s about as long as it takes to fold a load of laundry. (But way more fun.) We’ll take care of the more involved maintenance like pruning, cleaning up debris, and mulching each month.

If you choose to maintain your own garden, plan to spend at least 1-2 hours a week caring for your garden (or more during the busy planting and harvest seasons).

Raised beds allow us to address so many of the challenges of mountain gardening. We fill them with a compost-soil blend which drains better, warms faster, and has more nutrients than planting in-ground in our thin, native soils. The result is an extended harvesting season, fewer pests and invasive weeds that are common in our landscape, a garden that’s easier to tend (no hunching over or crawling!), and a beautiful outdoor space year-round.

Every garden is different, and the cost depends on the size and amount of materials required. A typical investment ranges between $125-150 per square foot of usable garden space, and we’ll help you maximize your investment by planning strategically and getting the most out of every square inch of your garden.

When we send you your design, you’ll also receive a ballpark estimate for the total cost that includes all labor and materials. Once your design is approved and finalized, you’ll receive a full estimate. A 50% retainer will secure your spot on our calendar.

When you sign up for Full Garden Helper Support (12 visits per year), we guarantee 𝗮 𝗵𝗮𝗿𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗲𝗿 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸 during our growing season. 🥕🧄🥦

With these regular visits, we can catch and treat problems early, before they affect your harvest.

𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲’𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘁-𝘀𝗼-𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗻𝘁:

💧 We live in a desert. Without water, veggies will die! We expect our gardening aficionados will water their plants properly between our visits. (And yes, we can teach you best practices!)

🦌 We’ll give you all the tips and tools you need to keep animals out of the garden. But if those measures aren’t kept in place, we can’t guarantee that creatures won’t eat your weekly harvest before you do. 🐰

❄️ We can’t control the weather and extreme dips in temperature, but if your plants die from extreme conditions, we will replant through mid-October.

You can hire a handy(wo)man to make you a garden box, but our continued support is what sets us apart as a company!

Responsibilities include:
Planting and Tending gardens
Removing weeds, pests, harvests
Adding plants, seeds, fertilizers, compost, mulch, covers
Recording activities on Job Sheets
Packing and unpacking for maintenance sessions and installations
Taking inventory of supplies
Communicating to Operations when inventory is low
Plant shopping
Seedling growing

Skills needed:
Have a car they can drive to job sites
Ability to carry and apply 2 cu ft bags of compost and mulch
Ability to work without supervision
A working knowledge of common weeds
Expert level mountain vegetable gardening skills are not required; a willingness and aptitude for learning them are.
Ability to work outdoors during mountain summer conditions - sun, heat, rain, cold
Software you'll use: click up, air table, email
Ability to drive with a trailer is a plus

Pay:
$25 during the training period when we'll both be working together.
$30 once the Gardener is independent and efficient
End of season bonus

Scheduling:
Gardener can determine the work schedule once the training phase is completed
Gardener should however group service areas together for efficiency
Position starts early to mid March (weather dependent) and continues through early to mid November (weather dependent)

Types of gardens (anticipated):
10 hours a week of existing ornamental garden maintenance - weeding, feeding, mulching, deadheading
2-4 hours a week of newly installed waterwise, pollinator, native, and/or edible landscaping
10-12 hours a week of raised bed vegetable gardens including planting newly installed gardens and maintaining existing gardens
