Challenges with in situ visualizations of nonparticulate organics in porous materials limit understanding of organic compounds.
We tested a recently proposed method of staining soil organics by OsO4 vapors with subsequent dual-energy X-ray computed microtomography scanning (μCT). It offers new opportunities to visualize soil organic matter within an intact soil matrix. Please check the publication below!

Congratulations to Alyssa Kim for receiving a Certificate in Computational Modeling from the College of Engineering! Alyssa also recently received the travel grant award from the Environmental Science and Policy program. She will use the funds to present her research at the European Geosciences Union, General Assembly, this May.
Congratulations to our grad student Jinho Lee on his recent publication! The work conducted in the paper was done during his masters at Gyeongsang National University in South Korea.
